haleysimao: Big Boy Room: Neutral Dinosaur

For my son's 3rd birthday, I wanted to give him a "big boy room". He was ready to transition out of his crib and we had a queen mattress waiting for him in the basement. The vision: NEUTRAL DINO! I was searching Pinterest for months, pulling pieces from all over to create my vision board. I wanted something that he could grow into as he gets older so stuck with pieces of furniture (bed, dresser, light) that he could have for years and then little accents he could change out as his interests change (comforter, prints, etc).

First up my mood board! I had created a hale navy accent wall in his room when he was a baby so had to base everything off of that. I also wanted to use as much as I could that I already had: dresser, bookshelf, table, and chairs. What do you think?! I think it nailed it!!

I just love how it came out so much- and so does he!

Bed: AMAZING!!! It is under $350 for a queen size and it is a HYDRAULIC storage bed! It lifts up with hydraulics so you can store things under the bed. I have the greige color, which is more of a linen talc color, which I was going for. The quality is just like the more expensive one we have in our room, such a great find. Tip: I paid $70 through Wayfair to have it installed through Angi, and it was worth every penny. I schedule the install date/time when it was convenient for me and the guy came out and installed it in 2.5 hours. Link for bed here

Bedding: Loved this neutral watercolor dino print! I paired it with this chunky blanket from target in the color brown ($60). You'll see little bumpers ($39) on the side of this bed that I added to protect him from falling off- they have grippers on the top & bottom and are secured underneath the fitted sheet.

Rug: This was deff a shot in the dark because I couldn't find a review on it anywhere but the colors looked like they would be perfect. It really is the perfect rug for a boy. I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd one for my husband's office. The colors are navy, charcoal, beige, mustard yellow, light grey. rug link.
